In 2002, when David Haye and Adam Booth discussed their impending move to the world of professional boxing, there was a clear and shared understanding as to what their aim and ultimate goal would be in the sport. The original objective was to be as successful as possible whilst maintaining control of their destiny - and with the fighter (David Haye) always being able to receive the financial return for his worth.
The ultimate purpose was to create a lasting and successful career that entertained boxing fans from the outset. An emphasis on striving for bigger and better challenges, irrespective of the risk involved. Though unaware at the time, during that meeting six years ago the ethos and key philosophy behind Hayemaker Boxing was born. Now, having reached the promised land of the undisputed world cruiserweight title, and with attention turned towards the ultimate prize in sport - the world heavyweight championship - this Hayemaker ethos is being passed on to a roster of ambitious professional boxers with differing levels of experience, yet similar hopes and dreams.
The philosophy constructed by David and Adam six years ago is one that is endorsed and followed by all the boxers who appear under the Hayemaker Boxing banner. It is one that puts the boxer first and everything else second. It is one that knows its priorities and embraces boxing as a sport rather than merely a money-making business.
The nature of sport entails taking risks, striving for competition and rewarding exceptional ability. Our notion of boxing advocates and awards each of those qualities. Anyone who has even casually watched or studied David Haye’s pro career from its inception will get a general idea as to the attitudes Hayemaker Boxing plan to promote and encourage.
Entertainment. Excitement. Competition. Risks. Knockouts. Confidence. Success. All in the name of sport. All in the name of Hayemaker Boxing.
There is no physical template a fighter must match up to or strive to fit in order to call oneself a Hayemaker Boxer. As David has proven throughout his own career, natural ability is only worthwhile if the necessary risks are undertaken to demonstrate it. Each of the boxers in the Hayemaker Boxing are hell-bent on achieving their goals. They crave the stage and opportunity to fulfil their unquestioned potential. They want to compete. They endeavour to take risks and disprove any critics they may encounter along the way. Their way of thinking is in line with the idea of boxing we wish to promote. Hayemaker Boxers carry likeminded goals, ambitions and desires to become the best they can be.
We are here for the boxers – our boxers are here for the fans.
