David Haye was once captured on film climbing a flight of steps in pursuit of world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
The incident happened less than 18 months ago and Haye was filmed begging the giant Ukrainian for a title shot, as well as ridiculing the contenders lined up for a tilt at Klitschko's belts.
How things have changed. Now armed with a WBA world heavyweight strap of his own, and two further wins over top 10-ranked fighters, Haye today cuts a far less desperate figure.
Wins over Nikolai Valuev and John Ruiz have established Haye as a major player in the heavyweight pile and now it's the Klitschko brothers, not 'The Hayemaker', doing the chasing and pursuing.
Seemingly fed up with stagnant and dull title defences, younger brother Wladimir today issued a video statement calling for a unification showdown with WBA king Haye.
"David, I'm officially calling you out to fight me," began Klitschko. "You bitched out of fighting both the Klitschko brothers already and now is the time to make it happen. You can't run away from me forever.
"You need to follow through with this fight to get respect. I'm ready - what are you waiting for?"
The wait may not be much longer for boxing fans. Haye and Klitschko are due to discuss the possibility of a unifcation clash later this week.
