'Making Haye', the authorised biography of boxer David Haye, comes out in paperback this Thursday (June 7), complete with updates. Written by close confidant Elliot Worsell, the book was originally published last October, and to critical acclaim.
'A perceptive, honest and engrossing book.' – DAILY TELEGRAPH
'Excellent… great tales told with insight and freshness' - GUARDIAN
'A rare insider’s view . . . a fascinating story of a modern day fighter' - BOXING NEWS
'A perceptive, honest and engrossing book, from which both men emerge with credit' - INDEPENDENT
'Worsell takes his readers on an illuminating ride with Haye from precocious beginnings to world championships' - DAILY MAIL
The updated version of 'Making Haye' arrives just in time for its subject's next fight, a July 14 grudge match against domestic rival Dereck Chisora, live on BoxNation (Sky Channel 456, Virgin 546). As Haye looks to write a new chapter with victory against Chisora at Upton Park, the Quercus-published 'Making Haye' recounts a glittering career that delivered the Bermondsey favourite with world cruiserweight and heavyweight titles.
“This book is the only one of its kind, and is a project I am really proud of,” said Haye. “Elliot has been alongside me every step of the way since the beginning of my pro career, and knows me as well as anybody. Despite this, he doesn't hold back and is, at times, brutally honest about me and my career. He certainly doesn't pull any punches.
“If you haven't picked up the book in hardback form, now's a good time to get hold of it in paperback, just a month before I knock out Chisora in front of 40,000 fans. Rest assured, the story isn't over yet.”
